is advocate fees a bribe?

there is no fixed criteria for collecting remuneration for the work of an advocate. different clients are paid differently. some clients ate even escape from payment. sometimes there may occure a cold war in the case of payment between  client and advocate. it is ethically scribed that this profession is not a mere job but a service. the question is service on what basis. the advocates will come under the party ship of consumer disputes! some times there may complaint of huge fees. but it is not a common thing. why cannot advocates ask fees and collect it on a fixed manner as that of doctors done in their profession.advocates are treated as officers of the court.other officers are paid officers.  the advocates working in the court as officers of the court are paid like giving bribe. think over it ?

  1. It is wrong to say that there is no fixed criteria for Advocates Fees! The High Court of Kerala has framed "RULES REGARDING FEES PAYABLE TO ADVOCATES" regarding the Fees allowable to Legal Practitioners in the High Court of Kerala and Subordinate Courts. Please see Appendix-VII in "The Civil Rules of Practice, Kerala".
